Recover from ransomware without paying the ransom
Ransomware goes for your backups first. With Gewape Cloud Backup every copy is locked for 30 days, checked for signs of an attack, and ready to restore from the Gewape Cloud Platform.
What you get
- Backups a stolen password cannot erase
- A known clean recovery point after an attack
- Restores that never overwrite what is there
- Pay only for the GB you store
Context
The challenge
An attacker who gets into your network looks for the backups before encrypting anything. If they can delete your copies, the ransom becomes the only way back.
Most small and mid-sized organizations keep backups on a disk in the office or in a cloud folder that the same stolen password can open. That is exactly what gets wiped.
Our approach
How Gewape Cloud Infrastructure addresses it
Gewape Cloud Backup writes every copy to a vault where it is locked for 30 days: nobody can delete or change it during that time, not even someone with your password. After every backup we check, on our side, for the trail ransomware leaves. If we see it, your last clean copy is kept and the account owner is alerted.

How it works
Step by step
- 1
Protect what matters
Install the Gewape Cloud Backup app on computers and servers, and protect cloud servers and volumes from their page in the console.
- 2
Set a policy
Choose when backups run and how many daily, weekly and monthly copies to keep. Every copy is locked for 30 days when it is written.
- 3
Get warned early
If a backup shows thousands of rewritten or renamed files, you get an alert in the console and by email, and the last clean copy is kept.
- 4
Restore the clean copy
Clean or replace the device, then restore the last clean copy into a new folder or as a new volume. Nothing existing is overwritten.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Can ransomware delete my backups?
No. Each copy is locked for 30 days once written. During that time nobody can delete or change it, including someone with your password.
How do I know an attack is happening?
After every backup we compare it with what is normal for that folder. Mass rewrites, files renamed to a new extension and ransom notes trigger an alert in the console and by email.
What does it cost?
US$0.03 per GB stored per month for computers and servers, and US$0.08 for cloud servers and volumes. No plan size and no device limit.
Does the check run on my computer?
No. It runs on the backups we hold, so a compromised computer cannot switch it off.
Backups an attacker cannot delete, and a clean copy to go back to.
